Mark Stahl, SFI, SAF Certified Forester
Owner, Manager
Mr. Stahl graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Engineering in 1982. He spent the first eight years of his career working in Alaska, Oregon and Washington in logging, road construction and land surveying. In 1990 he accepted a position in Anchorage, Alaska with a Native Regional Corporation as a staff forester administering numerous timber sales. In 1992 he became the Land and Resources Manager with responsibility over the corporation’s 970,000 acres of surface and subsurface resources. In 2000 he moved his family south to Olympia, Washington to take a position with Aloha Lumber Corporation as forester then general manager. When Aloha closed its operations in 2007, Mr. Stahl purchased a subsidiary, NorthWest Cascade Land, LLC to continue in the forestry and timber industry. In late 2007 he opened an Alaska division, Denali Log & Lumber to participate in the finished product sector of the industry and organized the two entities under Denali NorthWest. He lives in Talkeetna, Alaska with his wife Sandy and four children enjoying aviation - particularly skiplane flying – snow machining, hockey, raising livestock, hiking, fishing and hunting.
Lisa D. Layman
Office Manager
Ms. Layman graduated from Centralia Community College in 1993 with an ATA Degree as a Civil Engineer Technician. After graduating she took a position with Aloha Lumber Corporation as Office Assistant. When Aloha closed its operations she rejoined with Mark Stahl and Mike Eberly in 2008 to work as Office Manager for NorthWest Cascade Land, LLC. Besides enjoying time spent with her four grown children and two grandchildren she also enjoys riding her 2006 Harley Davidson.
Mike Eberly, SFI Certified Forester
Operations Manager
Mr. Eberly graduated from Hocking College with an Associate of Applied Science in Fish and Wildlife Management in 2002. During his time in Southeast Ohio he worked on various game and fish management projects. He then went on to take a year and a half of coursework in Forest Engineering at the University of Idaho. During his time in Idaho, Mike cruised timber and performed survey work for both private landowners and large corporations such as Stimson and Potlach. Before graduation, he was deployed to Iraq as a Combat Engineer with the Idaho National Guard in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom III in 2004 – 2005. Upon return to the States, he accepted a Forestry Technician job with Aloha Lumber Corporation, where he worked under the direction of Mark Stahl, developing his timber harvest operations skills. Mike is currently in his senior year at Saint Martin’s University pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration (Finance) and Accounting. Mike and his wife Tanya live in Lacey, Washington.
